Magic? No, it is simply because the statue indeed has four heads, which faithfully guards the crossing point of Surapati Street, Udayana Street, Veteran Street, and Gajah Mada Street, is actually the depiction of God Brahma, the manifestation of God as the Almighty Creator.

There is one amusing story regarding the fact why Brahma is sometimes depicted as a four faced supernatural being. Once upon a time there was a beauty contest held in heaven. All Gods, including Brahma, shamelessly fought for the most advantageous spot from which they can view the contest best. The nymphs who joined the contest were required to parade in a circle around the Gods to reveal their best heavenly beauty. The participants were countless that the parade soon became a big and crowded circle. Brahma wanted to enjoy the visual pleasure overland over again in order to be able to appreciate the beauty of all of the ingenious solution, With his supernatural power, he transformed himself and he had three extra heads.

A more serious explanation of why the statue has for heads shows their meaning. It is said that the four heads represents God’s might. The first head symbolizes the fact that God is infinitely big, the second head symbolizes that the God is the King of the kings of both this world and the next, the third heads symbolizes the fact that God is a tireless Worker who never quits working.
