Character of
Balinese People

Basically national character concept , means th character attitude or the private that supossed from the specific entire culture. Culture, none can be wary of attitude and practice, or tradition, and still many people mark the special quality for each culture. Culture and character or private may be easy to confused and the differs are the most important. Culture, or attitude that usually people do ( for example, ceremony, pray, cremation ('ngaben'), traditional medical treathment, dance, cock fighting, tribute 'banten', planting paddy, and association) are assumpted unsticking the private. However, the private or character are the psychologycal mecanism or emotional that do its in habit. The behaviour of character attitudes are inside the cultures' hopes (for example: their parents, friends of the same ages, family, 'banjar', and religion) or may be the soul manifestation.

The basic character of Balinese people
The Balinese culture aspects that are really basic and penetrate, make they are considered to be the strongly basic of behaviour and character that closely related. This strongness is rooted in two basic systems that close related covers: a) Hinduism-Balinese religion (Hookyaas, 1973) and, b) the whole family system, community ('banjar') and the ancestor. These show the influence, although the reality that most of Balinese people can not explain the religious principle. Its true that most of Balinese people do vary rituals and ceremonials for the simple faiths or as a traditional custom. The ceremonials need the communities' participants that loyalty done for getting weel relationship in their social life.

The basic elements of the Balinese-Hinduism are a) five faiths of Hindu-Dharma principles, b) three factor consepts: 'buana', 'alit', 'buana agung', and Gods, and 'the strongnesss of 'blood-relatives'. Besides, it's noted that the family, ancestor, and community are involved and need each other. None of them, except the homeless drifter or skizofrenia people, may be functioned without being these three. Every Balinese people since their birth is blessed in the three factor systems above, and have implanted since the earliest.

The attitude character of Balinese people
The Balinese characteristic concepts are: The truth-faith, hard-creative, arranging in stages oriented, Cooperation loyalty, adaptation, need a son, and has ability of being hypnotized. The four emotional aspects are also identified to be the characteristic of the Balinese people: the non-verbal act of emotional expression, restrained emotion, and the passive receipt.

There is the strongness of the Balinese people characteristics about the faiths. The Balinese children grow up and believe to their parents and the older people. This as one reason that they are learned to respect them. They believe to 'pemangku', 'pedanda', 'balian' that are needed by the Gods to extend the desire and His inspirations to the people. They trusth to 'kepala desa' (village headman) and the 'banjar' leader and trusthful to the community norms or call 'awig-awig'. They also consistantly trusth to their ancestor traditionals, and believed that all can help them in reaching the successful of life. That is why they respect to the God and their ancestor and give their loyalty and tribute 'banten' regulated nicely. The weel feelings that are had to the Balinese people is strengthened by the closed heeling to their ancestor, community, and best strongness in their soul ( for instance,'blood-relative strongness'), even the other things.

A couple of Balinese family
The character of Balinese man by 2000 is strongly tied with their nucleous family as wife and their child. A woman is as his partner in arrange their family and career. The household problem is the responsible and the duty of all so their income is from both of Husband and wife. The harmony of a household come from both sides and their love each other is not only said in our heart, but necessary to express through actions and words.

The succesful of the man is not only viewed from the education background, their masterpiece, the ability to lead, and his richness, but the harmony of his family and their ability in respect social intercourse ethics.
